What is Pints & Praise?
We love people, drinks, food, great songs and a good God. So, we’ll jump at any opportunity to have all of them at the same time! Most of us are Christians who like to have fun and worship God no matter where we are. The rest of us just think it is freakin’ awesome that we can meet at a restaurant or a bar where we can sing praise songs!
A majority of the band and leadership for Pints & Praise are part of Table 153 (the relaxed worship service at Tucker First United Methodist Church) along with various individuals, families and churches from the DeKalb and Gwinnett communities. Our hope is to put ourselves out into the community in such a way that others and ourselves might better connect with a fun and Godly experience. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, we know our lives are as full of mistakes as our singing abilities come together in a bar. So, we’ll do our best to sing every song as close to perfection as we can, knowing this is a great metaphor for our daily lives together as well.
A typical night at Pints & Praise will include singing some great praise songs, casual conversations with caring people and the opportunity to share concerns or questions privately during or after the experience. Remember, we’re in a bar. So, we’re about as laid back about sharing our lives and faith with you as you are talking to the bartender.
Stay tuned for Pints & Praise locations, as our venue may change with each performance. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Owen Skinner or Art Wood.
